Students will have some cards to make up conversations based on some topics. Additionally they will have a list of useful words and expressions. The main purpose of this activity is to practice Speaking in class.

SPEAKING CARDS

In this  quiz, students have to complete with the indefinite article A or An, scramble the sentences, order the conversation, match the sentences with the halves. It is used to prove students understanding.   

ARTICLE "A-AN"

the main objective of this conversation is for the students to practice and improve their pronunciation using a commercial context. The words underlined are related to commerce and an activity is suggested. However, we are sure that teachers who decide to use this conversation can be more creative and according to their students ´level adapt it. 

Commercial English Dialogue

The present simple is essential for describing routines and everyday facts, as it allows us to communicate our daily activities and universal truths clearly and directly. For example, we use this tense to talk about what we do each day, such as “I have breakfast at seven” or “She works in an office.” In this activity, students will have the opportunity to practice how to form affirmative, negative, and question sentences in the present simple, helping them improve their fluency and understanding of the language.

Through practical exercises, students will learn to identify the correct structure of sentences in the present simple, both in affirmations and negations, as well as how to formulate questions. This will not only strengthen their grammar but also enable them to interact more effectively in everyday conversations. By the end of the activity, students will be better prepared to use the present simple in various communicative situations.

I created this worksheet based on the activities the website had. I included two more exercises, one to introduce the vocabulary before listening, and the other one will be based on the conversation the students will listen.

Absolute beginners who have begun to learn the letters and numbers

Learners taking the A1 Elementary exam should be able to:<ul><li>Introduce themselves and ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, things he/she has, people he/she knows.</li><li>Communicate using very basic phrases as long as the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.</li><li>Main grammar points to know: common adjectives & adverbs of frequency, going to, how much/how many, imperatives, I'd like, 's – possessive, common prepositions of place and time, present simple & continuous, there is/are</li></ul>

Learners taking the A2 Pre-intermediate exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand sentences and frequently used expressions (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).</li><li>Complete tasks that are routine and exchange information about familiar matters.</li><li>Describe matters of immediate need in simple terms.</li><li>Main grammar points to know: countable/uncountable nouns, adverbs of frequency, future will/going to, much/many, present perfect, past simple, past continuous, common phrasal verbs, common modals: can/should</li></ul>

Learners taking the B1 Intermediate exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand points regarding family, work, school or leisure-related topics.</li><li>Deal with most travel situations in areas where the language is spoken.</li><li>Create simple texts on topics of personal interest.</li><li>Describe experiences, events, dreams, and ambitions, as well as opinions or plans in brief.</li><li>Main grammar points to know: question tags, intensifiers: too/enough, future tenses, past tenses, modals, conditionals, wh-questions in the past</li></ul>

Learners taking the B2 Upper-intermediate exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization.</li><li>Interact with fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without difficulty for either party.</li><li>Produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain an opinion on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.</li><li>Main grammar points to know: perfect tenses, mixed conditionals, modals in the present, phrasal verbs, reported speech, wish, relative clauses</li></ul>
